FAQ's

Can I have a custom design for the gate?

Absolutely. We can create a  bespoke gate design that aligns with your property’s aesthetics and functional requirements.

Our manufacturers can build a moving gate frame complete with all the gate hardware ready to fill the panels with materials you choose e.g. timber, corrugated iron.

Yes, we can. Our experienced team assesses your property’s unique terrain to design and install gates that operate smoothly, even on challenging landscapes.

The short answer is – it depends.

The Motor is designed to be connected to an existing 230V power outlet in your existing building without the need of major electrical work.

If your building is reasonably close to your gate, we’ll dig a trench and connect it directly to an existing exterior power supply outlet without the need of an electrician.

However, If you haven’t got an existing exterior power supply then we’ll need to get an electrician to install one.

Costs vary based on design and features. For example, a standard 4.1m x 1.2m “Manor” Swing Gate, with no additional electrical work starts at $6,300 + GST.

Our gates can be operated via remote controls, keypads, intercom systems, or mobile apps, depending on your preference and security needs.

The choice between sliding and swing gates depends on your property’s layout and personal preference.

Swing gates are generally easier to install but require ample space to open.

Sliding gates are ideal for properties with limited space or sloped driveways, offering self-locking capabilities and space-saving advantages.

However, they may require more extensive installation work, including concrete footings.

How do we install your automated gate?

SLIDING GATE

1. We measure the finished height you would like the gate to be e.g. 1.5m or 1.8m high from the ground (Also can be referred to as the installed height). We will take off an allowance for the wheels and wheel track when we build the gate.

2. The length you want the frame to be. For sliding gate this is usually a bit more than the distance between your posts. As a general guideline we allow for 50mm overlap of your posts at each end, however this is case by case and you may want more overlap. Factors can include just where you want to position your end catcher or roller guide bracket.

3. For gate styles such as the Louvre, Tongue & Groove, Slat, or frame we only need to know which end to place the ‘tails’. These are a 300mm extension of the top and bottom rails that our manufacturer adds on. When standing outside the property (road side), we will also need to know will the gate slide open from the left to the right; or from the right to the left?

SWING GATE

The first step is to decide whether you want a single swing, or double swing gate. Next, what design style you would like it to be.

We then take the following two measurements:

1. Height – the finished height above the ground you would like the top of the gate to be (we build to an installed height based on allowing a 40mm clearance at the bottom).

2. Gap between your Post. We measure the distance from inside face to inside face of your posts.

When custom building your gate we will take the Post Gap measurement, and take off an allowance for the hinges and closing gap.

As standard the gate includes adjustable steel hinges with our swing gates. These have a threaded rod that goes through the gate frame, and allows us some adjustment in or out during installation.
